The developers have promised us a couple of things.

This thing is meant to bring the series back to the types of gameplay that made it a phenomenon in the first place, with returning characters like Captain Price. This series has been all over the place in recent years, from sci-fi to World War 2, with a jaunt into a battle royale and the usual continuous helpings of zombies.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare comes out on October 25, 2019, taking the usual series spot at the center of fall release season.
